I recently accidentally activated the Windows Media Player on my computer, and now when I download music (legally) the only way my song will play is through Windows Media Player. I do not like Windows Media and I want the songs to play on my iTunes, so I can listen to them on my ipod. I have tried to get rid of it but all I really manage to do is delete the shortcut. Any words of wisdom? Thank you!Submited by:Eric F

badmoon36 asked:
I’ve recently uninstalled Windows Media Player and its security updates from my computer (Win 2000) through the Add/Remove Programs feature, but the automatic update notifications keep on coming for Media Player security fixes.
The FAQs for these updates on the Windows website don’t list my OS as one that is vulnerable.
How do I let the updater know I no longer have WMP? Do I need to make a registry edit?
